Egypt’s non-bank financing hits EGP 851.4b in first eight months of 2025 – FRA

Egypt’s Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) said on Tuesday that total financing provided by entities under its supervision reached 851.4 billion Egyptian pounds between January and the end of August 2025, covering capital market and non-banking financial activities.

Share issuances accounted for 457.8 billion pounds, while other securities reached 60.1 billion pounds, the FRA said in its monthly report.

Leasing contracts amounted to 106.2 billion pounds, SME financing 68.2 billion, consumer finance 56.7 billion, factoring 77.3 billion, and mortgage financing 25.1 billion.

Registrations of movable assets under the collateral registry hit 3.9 trillion pounds by end-August, while total SME financing balances stood at 91.4 billion pounds.

Insurance premiums collected during the period rose to 77.5 billion pounds, including 43.5 billion for property and liability coverage and 34 billion for personal insurance and fund accumulation operations.

Total insurance claims paid reached 40.1 billion pounds, with 18.7 billion for property and liability policies and 21.4 billion for personal insurance and fund accumulation coverage, the regulator said.

The FRA noted that property and liability insurance covers assets such as homes, vehicles, and goods against fire, theft, or damage, while personal and fund-related insurance includes life, death, and accident coverage.
