Egypt’s manufacturing, extractive industries index rises 4.7% in Oct ’25 – CAPMAS

Egypt’s manufacturing and extractive industries index rose 4.7 per cent in October 2025, reaching 125.90 (preliminary) compared to 120.27 (final) in September 2025, according to preliminary data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS).

According to the CAPMAS report on Monday, the index for the manufacture of computers, electronic and optical products, and medical devices reached 166.13 in October 2025, up from 78.11 in September 2025, marking an increase of 112.69 per cent due to higher production.

The leather and leather products sector rose to 57.95 in October 2025 from 39.96 in September 2025, an increase of 45.02 per cent driven by higher demand.

Conversely, the index for the manufacture of machinery and equipment not elsewhere classified fell to 105.34 in October 2025 from 131.98 in September 2025, a decrease of 20.18 per cent due to lower demand for air conditioning equipment.

Other manufacturing industries dropped to 108.78 in October 2025 from 130.46 in September 2025, a decline of 16.62 per cent, reflecting reduced demand.
