Egypt’s Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib met with Coca-Cola HBC CEO Zoran Bogdanovic and officials to discuss expanding the company’s investments in Egypt.
The meeting, taking place on the sidelines of the 56th World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, also covered strengthening cooperation in sustainable manufacturing and local supply chains.
The ministers highlighted that Egypt provides a stable and transparent investment environment, supported by consistent fiscal and trade policies, and serves as a strategic regional hub for companies to expand into regional and international markets. They also stressed the government’s focus on industrial localisation, developing local production chains, and investing in qualified human resources.
Coca-Cola outlined plans to inaugurate a new production line at its current plant and open another factory in Alexandria. The company has also established a major digital centre in Cairo, currently employing 170 staff and expected to reach 450 by 2027, supporting operations across 27 countries.
Michael Goltzman, head of Environment, Policy and Sustainability at Coca-Cola, emphasised Egypt’s role as a central hub for the company’s regional operations, citing its advanced industrial infrastructure, strong logistics capabilities, and skilled workforce. He reaffirmed Coca-Cola’s commitment to continue investing in Egypt, supporting sustainable industrial growth, and strengthening long-term partnerships aligned with economic development and green growth.
