Egypt, Libya sign MoU to boost airspace coordination, efficiency

Egypt and Libya signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday to strengthen coordination and integration in managing their airspaces, aiming to improve safety, reduce flight times, and enhance operational efficiency, the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation said.

The MoU provides for technical cooperation, joint training programmes, and capacity building for aviation staff, as well as the adoption of modern air navigation technologies and coordinated management of air traffic flows.

Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El-Hefny described the MoU as a strategic step towards regional integration and applying the highest standards of aviation safety. He added that the partnership would strengthen air connectivity, reduce operational costs, and boost the competitiveness of both countries’ airspaces.

The partnership reflects ongoing efforts by both countries to enhance regional cooperation in civil aviation and improve service quality in line with international standards.
