Egypt denies rise in fish prices amid abundant supply

Egypt’s Lakes and Fish Resources Protection and Development Agency denied reports of any increases in fish prices during the current period. The authority confirmed on Sunday that a large supply of various types of fish is available in the markets, reflecting ongoing efforts to develop natural fisheries and fish farms across the country, which help balance supply and demand and stabilise prices.

The authority highlighted its regular monitoring of production and distribution in coordination with relevant bodies to ensure citizens have access to high-quality fish products at reasonable prices. It also urged the media and social media users to verify information and rely on official statements as a trusted source.

The authority affirmed its continued efforts to support the fisheries sector and enhance food security within the framework of the state’s sustainable development vision.
