CBE marks 10th participation in Arab Financial Inclusion Day

Egypt’s Central Bank (CBE) announced on Tuesday its participation in Arab Financial Inclusion Day for the tenth consecutive year, an initiative launched by the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF) in 2016 and observed on 27 April annually.

This year’s activities run throughout April under the slogan “Financial Health… A Path Towards Sustainable and More Stable Financial Inclusion”, aiming to improve access to financial services, promote savings, and encourage sound financial planning, with a focus on youth, women, farmers, and people with disabilities.

The CBE said the initiative is part of six financial inclusion events implemented nationwide, including enabling banks to operate outside branches, opening accounts without fees or minimum balances, promoting electronic wallets, and conducting financial literacy awareness activities.

It also stressed its ongoing efforts to strengthen financial health through awareness, better financial behaviour, and improved resource management, while working with stakeholders to expand financial access and urging banks to offer tailored products that support savings, particularly for youth and women.

The CBE highlighted initiatives targeting children and young people, including the School Bank project, which develops financial skills in saving, money management, and entrepreneurship, and reaffirmed its commitment to advancing financial inclusion and financial awareness.
