Egypt adds about 12,000 bpd of crude, condensates in Western Desert

Egypt has added about 12,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil and condensates to production in the Western Desert over the past two weeks, the petroleum ministry said on Sunday.

The increase included more than 10,000 bpd from fields operated by Khalda Petroleum Company and about 1,500 bpd from Abu Sannan fields operated by the General Petroleum Company.

The minister said the gains reflect ongoing efforts to develop discoveries and maximise output from existing fields.

It said the strategy includes expanding drilling and exploration activity and deploying advanced technologies to support production.

Egypt has been seeking to raise domestic oil and gas output to reduce import needs and support its energy balance.
