Egypt, Vodafone sign training deal to prepare 325 youths for tech jobs

Egypt’s Giza Labour Directorate and Vodafone International Services (VOIS) have signed a cooperation protocol on Tuesday to train 325 young people in Giza in technology and workplace skills during the 2026-27 training year, the Labour Ministry said.

The agreement is part of government efforts to align vocational training with labour-market needs and strengthen cooperation with the private sector.

The programme will cover DevOps, cloud computing, networking, and software engineering, as well as communication and workplace skills, CV writing, LinkedIn, personal branding, and job-interview techniques, the ministry said.

Graduates who successfully complete the programmes will receive certificates accredited by the Giza Labour Directorate, while outstanding participants will receive support in securing employment opportunities.

The agreement also includes an employment initiative targeting 33 people with disabilities, as part of efforts to increase their participation in the labour market.

Labour Minister Hassan Raddad said the partnership reflected the ministry’s approach of linking vocational training to employment opportunities and equipping young people with the technical and professional skills sought by employers.

The initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen Egypt’s technology workforce and expand private-sector partnerships in vocational training, the ministry said.
