Egypt’a PM opens Beixin Taishan factory in Sokhna

Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly inaugurated the Beixin Taishan Egyptian Building Materials Technology factory in the integrated Sokhna Industrial Zone, according to a statement by the the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) authority on Sunday. The factory will produce paper-faced gypsum boards and environmentally friendly polyvinyl chloride (PVC) decorative ceiling tiles.

The factory has investments of $10 million, covers 20,000 square metres, and has an annual production capacity of 20 million square metres. It provides around 50 jobs.

Madbouly inspected the factory’s production lines and finished products and reviewed the various manufacturing stages, including raw material handling, mixing and additives, furnace processing and waste recycling.

The project is expected to support the localisation of advanced building materials industries using modern production technologies. It will also enhance supply-chain efficiency, strengthen the competitiveness of products manufactured in SCZONE and support their access to regional and international markets.
