Egypt, Rwanda sign nuclear regulation MoU

Egypt’s Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA) to strengthen cooperation in nuclear and radiological regulation.

The MoU was signed on Wednesday on the sidelines of the 70th session of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s 70th IAEA General Conference in Vienna, Austria.

The agreement aims to help the two authorities address current and future regulatory challenges and exchange expertise in nuclear and radiological regulation.

The MoU is part of ENRRA’s efforts to strengthen cooperation with African regulatory bodies by supporting capacity building, developing regulatory infrastructure, and promoting the safe use of nuclear and radiological applications for peaceful purposes.

It also aims to expand partnerships with African regulators and facilitate the exchange of Egyptian expertise in the nuclear and radiological fields.
