Egyptian Exchange, state media authority sign financial literacy deal

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) signed a cooperation protocol with the state media authority MASPERO on Monday to promote financial literacy and expand specialised coverage of economic news and capital market developments across national television channels and media platforms.

The agreement aims to present the stock market as a long-term savings and investment tool while making trading mechanisms and financial concepts easier for the public to understand.

Under the protocol, Channel One and Egyptian Television teams will simplify economic concepts and explain how the stock market operates, making financial information more accessible to television audiences beyond investors and specialists.

The agreement also provides for the regular exchange of official data to support daily and weekly economic coverage, improve reporting accuracy, and enable objective analysis of the national economy and financial market developments.

The two parties will develop accessible visual content featuring market experts and analysts to explain investment issues and market movements.

The cooperation also includes workshops to strengthen media professionals’ skills and initiatives to leverage the Egyptian Exchange’s history and its downtown Cairo headquarters in promoting promising entities.

A joint coordination committee will oversee implementation and develop sustainable programmes to support the national economy.
