ITIDA, NTI train 10,485 students in technology skills across Egypt

Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI) trained 10,485 university students across 27 governorates through their 2026 Summer Training Program, focusing on technical skills and job readiness.

The programme offered more than 26 courses across eight technology tracks, with cybersecurity attracting the most participants at 2,192, followed by artificial intelligence with 2,001 and software development with 1,998.

Each participant received 120 hours of training, including 90 hours of technical instruction and 30 hours covering soft skills or freelancing. Some 3,807 students enrolled in programmes delivered through international technology academies affiliated with Amazon Web Services, Cisco, Fortinet, Huawei and Red Hat.

NTI President Ahmed Khattab said more than 40,000 students applied within less than seven days of registration opening. He added that the programme required participants to complete a practical graduation project to receive their certificates, while strengthening opportunities to earn international certifications and develop freelancing skills.

The programme’s top 200 graduates generated approximately $25,000 in freelancing revenue shortly after completing their training, averaging around $125 per graduate, Khattab said.

The programme is part of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s efforts to develop Egypt’s digital talent pool and prepare qualified professionals for the information and communications technology sector.
