Cairo-based Engineering Establishment for Electrical Industries (Egytrafo) is planning to inaugurate within February 2014 its new oil transformers plant in Ethiopia, with estimated investments worth around EGP 48 million (US$ 6.96 million).
Egytrafo Chairman Atef Abdel Moneim said his firm’s plant in Ethiopia is set to generate around 2400 oil transformers per year, noting that the plant is built on a space of 5000 m2 and the firm is currently completing the installation of machines and equipments.
Egytrafo plant is co-founded by the Egyptian firm and Ethiopian partners, he added.
Abdel Moneim also referred that the new plant is the first of its kind in Ethiopia. Therefore, such a matter would increase chances of success for the new plant.
