Egypt is working on a plan to provide citizens a wireless internet access in streets and squares.
Egyptian Information and Communication Technology Ministry (MCIT) is aiming to set governing standards in order to spread wireless internet services ADSL throughout the country’s streets and squares soon.
Since a few days, Alexandria governorate announced its cooperation with Noor Data Network Group so as to deliver WiFi internet services in public parks and squares to maintain speeds of up to 60 MB per second.
Minister Atef Helmy said the ministry will cooperate with major governorates to legalize the deployment of internet services in the squares and streets in order to avoid the use of illegal actions.
