Egypt’s Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy is currently planning to generate 35.000 megawatts in summer to face the maximum load on national electricity network that expected to reach 31.000 megawatts, senior electricity ministry official Sabah Mashaly announced Sunday.
Mashaly clarified that the ministry would be able to achieve its plan after getting the necessary amounts of gas, heating oil and diesel to generate electricity.
She also stated that electricity sector started a punch of incentive procedures to add more capacity to the national network; 875 megawatts would be added in May 2015 to face expected loads in summer 2015.
Moreover, the official noted that Egypt’s Electricity Ministry is always coordinating with oil sector to determine fuel amounts necessary to operate power stations during summer.
