Russian President Vladimir Putin and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi expressed hope that regular flights between Russia and Egypt would be resumed quickly, the Kremlin press service statement said.
The two leaders agreed in a phone call Friday to continue joint efforts aimed at ensuring flight safety and security of Russian citizens in Egypt, Sputnik news agency quoted the Kremlin press service as saying.
“In line with common understanding of the need to ensure the highest security standards for Russian citizens in Egypt, as well as in the light of Russia’s current suspension of flights to and from Egypt, the two sides agreed to instruct the relevant federal security bodies and aviation authorities of the two countries to continue coordination of their action,” the press service added in a statement.
