14 Czech firms seek supplying Egypt’s Dabaa nuclear plant components

Around 14 Czech firms offered Russia-based Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom) to provide components of Dabaa nuclear plant that Egypt currently executing, Czech Industry Minister Jan Mládek stated Sunday.

Mládek made these remarks during the first meeting of the Egyptian Czech Joint Economic Committee that aimed at enhancing joint cooperation, especially in the fields of trade, industry, energy, tourism, transport and communication as well as small and medium enterprises.

He stated that Czech investors are focusing on new and renewable energy sector to invest in Egypt besides being suppliers of nuclear plants components.

Minister Mládek added that 25 Czech businessmen seek for cooperation opportunities with their Egyptian counterparts during their visit to Egypt.

Czech firms owns competitive privileges in a number of fields notably power, developing infrastructure, in addition to metallurgical and food industries, the minister clarified.

On Sunday, Egypt and the Czech signed two agreements to boost economic cooperation between the two countries.

An agreement was signed between Egypt’s Social Fund for Development and the Czech foundation for small and medium industries, while the second was signed between Egypt’s General Authority for Investment and Free Zones and the Czech Export Bank.
