EGX 30 Surges 0.51%, Citadel Capital 1.90% Up; Sunday Closing

During Sunday closing session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has pared its early gains to eventually reach EGP 2.3 billion as the capital market has amounted to EGP 363.547 billion.

The main index, EGX30 surged by 0.51% to close at 5242.47 p.  EGX20 soared by 0.71% to end at 6127.39 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 jumped 1.29% to finish at 478.34 p.  Price index EGX100 climbed by 0.92% to reach 813.59 p.

Traded volume reached 173.394 million securities worth EGP 459.339 million, exchanged 30.076 transactions.

This was after trading in 181 listed securities; 34 declined 135 advanced while 12 keeping their previous levels.

The main reason behind EGX30’s upwards was that Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers seizing 83.95% and 6.36% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 32.173 million and EGP 3.190 million excluding the deals.

On the other hand, non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 9.66% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 35.363 million excluding the deals.

Leading Shares:

EGX’s leading shares witnessed collective upwards except for the shares of Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) which tumbled by 0.22% to end at EGP 275.10.

Citadel Capital:

Citadel Capital (CCAP.CA) led EGX upwards as they jumped by 1.90% to conclude at EGP 3.22.

Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding:

Shares of Shares of Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) soared by 1.72% to finish at EGP 0.59.

EFG-Hermes Holding:

Shares of EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) surged 0.86% to close at EGP 11.72.

EFG-Hermes said Sunday it will announce the date of its extraordinary shareholders meeting with a week. EFG-Hermes added that its ESM aims to provide its shareholder with all the disclosures and details; QInvest buyout deal in particular regarding the acquisition of 60% of Hermes stakes.

EFG-Hermes official source noted that once the group obtains the shareholders’ approvals, all the necessary procedures to conclude QInvest acquisition deal would be then completed.

Dr. Ashraf Al-Sharkawy, the chairman of Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA), had stated that EFG-Hermes did not provide the required information and further disclosures including the fate of minority rights after the deal is completed as well as the financial mechanism regarding dividend distribution.

Al-Sharkawy noted that the EFSA has asked EFG-Hermes for more disclosures including the future of the group, its capital and fate of its minority, but it did not respond yet.

Commercial International Bank:

The shares of Commercial International Bank- Egypt (CIB) (COMI.CA) inched higher by 0.73% to finish at EGP 29.07.

Talaat Moustafa Group:

Talaat Moustafa Group (TMGH.CA) rose by 0.66% to end at EGP 4.60.

Orascom Telecom Holding:

Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) went up by 0.56% to close at EGP 3.59.
