Allianz Egypt allots $399K to promote UNICEF’s vulnerable children initiative
Allianz Egypt is allocating 6.5 million Egyptian pounds ($399,961) over three years for UNICEF’s initiative to strengthen social protection programmes for vulnerable children and their families in Egypt.
The company last March signed the agreement with UNICEF to help further promote social inclusion for children and to ensure that no child is left behind.
The initiative – dubbed as “I Deserve a Chance” – aims to ensure every child has a chance to learn.
It will be partly financed through Allianz Egypt’s sales from life and motor insurance policies, said its managing director Ayman Hegazy said on Thursday.
Allianz Egypt – part of German insurer giant Allianz – aims to help UNICEF support the government’s led-efforts in providing an urgent and integrated policy response to child poverty.
Specifically, to improve social inclusion, with a focus on the most marginalised children and improve the accessibility and affordability of education services through conducting research to ensure targeting the most vulnerable.
Allianz’s partnership with UNICEF is “an investment in the future both socially and economically.” Regional CEO Antoine Issa said in March.
“The support we receive from Allianz Egypt is an important contribution to our joint work to improve social inclusion for all children in Egypt, with a focus on the most marginalized and the most vulnerable”, said Fazlul Haque, UNICEF Deputy Representative in Egypt, during March signing ceremony.
