The United Bank of Egypt inaugurated a new Islamic banking branch in Mohandseen, as part of the bank’s strategy to increase its Islamic banking branches all over Egypt. With the latest branch, the total number of United Bank’s branches became 48 that is spread across Egypt, said Mohamed Ashmawy, chairman of the bank.
The bank offers a package of corporate and retail banking solutions which are compliant with sharia law. The bank also expands in offering SME banking services through its “Intilaqa” service, he noted.
The bank has taken time in choosing the employees who can deal with both companies and persons. The employees chosen were trained on conducting Islamic banking transactions, Ashmawy added.
