Cairo Criminal Court postpones NGPs Case until April 10

Cairo Criminal Court postponed NGOs case, 43 of Egyptians and foreigners convicted, until April 10th session; demanding to bring the escaped defendants.

The session started by calling the defendants in the dock whereas 15 ones were attending and among them the American Robert who refused to travel.

The court witnessed an altercation between the defendants’ defense and claimants when a lawyer describe the case as a codified espionage one; explaining that travel ban lift decision degrades Egyptians’ dignity consequently the session ended. The claimants claimed EGP 100 thousands compensation as a temporary one and called for involving the former director of General Intelligence Doctorate Omar Suleiman in the case.

Outside the court, Sheikh Omar Abdul Rahman’s allies organized a march today calling for getting him out of American prisons. Sheikh Omar’s son, Abdullah, said there hasn’t any deal so far between Egypt and American administration to release his father, adding, he phoned the minister of foreign affairs’ assistant who denies having any information. He mentioned that he called Ramsey Clark, his father’s lawyer in America; as the lawyer denied receiving any call from the officials especially after the travel ban lift for the accused Americans.

Abdullah sent a message to parliament, government and SCAF to help Sheikh Abdel Rahman out of American prisons; assuring that parliament should act and provide an urgent demand for releasing his father; and Egypt should do the same with America. And he said Sunday’s march will be in front of the parliament.
