Chinese oilfield services provider, Anton Oilfield Services Group announced on Tuesday plans to relocate part of its operations from Dubai to Cairo, reflecting its confidence in Egypt’s investment climate.
The announcement made during a meeting between Salah Abdel Kerim, CEO of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), and officials in Anton Oilfield on the sidelines of the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES 2025).
The talks focused on opportunities to explore and develop gas projects in Egypt, in line with the country’s vision to maximise the utilisation of its natural resources.
Anton Oil reaffirmed its commitment to investing in the Egyptian petroleum sector, while Abdel Karim highlighted the country’s promising potential in oil and gas. He also reiterated EGPC’s readiness to collaborate with Anton Oilfield to enhance investment in the industry.
The cooperation aligns with Egypt’s strategy to attract foreign investments in the petroleum and gas sectors and expand partnerships with leading regional and international companies, supporting sustainable development and reinforcing Egypt’s position as a regional energy hub.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to set a date soon to outline mechanisms for implementing their cooperation.
