Egypt in Davos ’25: Mashat explores digital economy opportunities with DCO

Egypt’s Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, Rania Al-Mashat, held a meeting with the founding Secretary-General of the Digital Cooperation Organisation (DCO), Deemah AlYahya, and board member of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, to explore opportunities for collaboration in the digital economy and innovation.

The meeting, held on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum 2025 in Davos, highlighted the critical role of these areas in promoting economic sustainability and accelerating growth, aligning with Egypt’s government priorities to build a knowledge-based economy, foster entrepreneurship, and encourage innovation.

The Digital Cooperation Organisation, founded in 2020 by nine member states—including Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Rwanda—aims to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and business growth in a shared digital economy.

The organisation focuses on empowering women, youth, and entrepreneurs to drive growth in the digital economy and achieve greater prosperity.
