Egypt declared Thursday, 2 July, a paid public holiday to mark the anniversary of the 30 June Revolution, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said in a decree issued on Tuesday.
The holiday will apply to employees of ministries, government agencies, public authorities, local administration units, public-sector companies, and state-owned enterprises.
The government moved the holiday from Tuesday, 30 June, to Thursday, 2 July, in line with its policy of shifting some public holidays to the end of the workweek.
School and university examinations will go ahead as scheduled, according to timetables set by the relevant authorities, the decree said.
