Egypt explores healthcare PPP with Siemens

Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, met with Bernd Ohnesorge, the head of Siemens Healthineers, to strengthen partnerships between the public and private sectors in order to improve healthcare services in Egypt.

The meeting, that was held on the sidelines of the Arab Health 2025, tackled setting up a cutting-edge training lab for Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) simulation at Ismailia Health Technical Institute, a ground-breaking initiative in the MENA region.

The minister highlighted the collaboration’s significance in enhancing public health and diagnostic capabilities. The partnership aims to provide healthcare professionals with cutting-edge technologies and training for high-quality services to citizens.

Furthermore, the discussions encompassed leveraging digital transformation and artificial intelligence to modernise healthcare infrastructure and systems, according to a Cabinet statement.

The collaboration will also support health initiatives, including the Presidential Initiative to support women’s health, by providing essential equipment and expanding access to healthcare services, particularly in remote areas.
