Egypt, Kuwait discuss strategic ties, regional stability

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has reiterated the depth of strategic relations between Egypt and Kuwait, emphasising Cairo’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Kuwait in a variety of areas, including the economy, investment, security, and defense sectors.

President Sisi met with Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence and Interior, in Cairo on Sunday and expressed Egypt’s gratitude for Kuwait’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause as well as its leadership in humanitarian efforts. He emphasised the significance of stepping up collaborative efforts to enable adequate humanitarian aid delivery to Gaza and to cement the cease-fire, ensuring the agreement’s full implementation. This, he stated, would help restore regional peace and establish the framework for a political path towards a two-state solution that is consistent with international legitimacy.

The Kuwaiti official applauded Egypt’s efforts to secure the ceasefire accord, which were made in collaboration with Qatar and the United States. He emphasised Kuwait’s support for Egypt’s continuous efforts to promote long-term peace in the region.
