Egypt’s Deputy Minister of Health and Population, Abla Al-Alfy, met with a delegation from the French business federation “MEDEF International” to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation and investment opportunities in Egypt’s healthcare sector, as per a Cabinet statement.
The talks reflected Egypt’s strong political commitment to developing its healthcare system and attracting foreign investment, particularly in key sectors. Al-Alfy highlighted recent legislation introduced to improve the investment climate and align with the country’s sustainable development goals.
The discussions focused on training and capacity-building programmes for medical staff to enhance the quality of healthcare services. Both sides also explored potential collaboration in digital transformation, telemedicine, governance, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Other areas of interest included scientific research, innovation in health technologies, and the production of medical equipment.
The Egyptian side shared updates on the country’s successful vaccine localisation strategy and digital health transformation, noting the significant potential offered by its integrated national health databases linked to major public health initiatives.
