Egypt’s commodity exports hike by 6% in Jan-Feb

Egypt’s commodity exports increased by six per cent growth during January and February of 2024, reaching $6.121 billion compared to $5.764 billion in the same period in 2023, the Cabinet announced on Monday.

The report identified Turkey as the top market for Egyptian exports, with a value of $551 million, followed by Saudi Arabia of $511 million, Italy of $395 million,  Libya of $337 million, and the USA of $315 million.

The key customs items in the Egyptian commodity exports that witnessed a rise in the first two months of the current year were fresh and dried oranges ($296 million), nitrogen fertilisers ($268 million), gold ($211 million), insulated wires and cables ($229 million), and oil ($215 million).
