Egypt’s export subsidies rise 55% in FY2025/26 – FinMin

Egypt allocated 28 billion Egyptian pounds to export subsidies in fiscal year 2025/26, up 55 per cent from a year earlier, as it seeks to boost production, exports and private-sector investment, Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk said on Tuesday.

Kouchouk made the remarks during the inaugural meeting of a joint committee between the Finance Ministry and the Egyptian Exporters Association (Expolink), in which he said fiscal policy would continue to support productive sectors and exporters.

“Our budget allocations reflect our priorities of supporting economic growth, strengthening competitiveness, and maintaining fiscal stability. The government’s economic team is working in close coordination to create a more attractive business environment for the private sector,” Kouchouk said.

Egypt has been expanding fiscal and tax incentives to encourage private-sector investment and boost exports as part of a broader programme of structural reforms designed to support sustainable economic growth.
