Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly reviewed preparations on Sunday for the launch of the second phase of the presidential Hayat Karima (Decent Life) rural development programme, according to a government statement.
During a meeting on the initiative, Madbouly said ministries and implementing agencies should complete preparations in line with directives issued by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and adhere to the planned implementation timetable.
Ahmed Abdel Azim, director of Dar Al-Handasah, presented proposals to accelerate work on the second phase while addressing implementation challenges encountered during the first phase.
Abdel Azim said work had been completed in 826 villages under the first phase, including 31 villages finished between 9 June and 5 July.
He added that authorities completed 90 projects and took delivery of another 120 projects across multiple sectors during the same period.
According to the presentation, implementing agencies are coordinating to accelerate the completion and operation of the remaining projects so services can begin in the targeted villages.
