Egypt’s PM reviews second tax relief package

Egypt is preparing a second package of tax facilitation measures aimed at improving services for taxpayers, strengthening cooperation with the private sector and attracting investment, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said on Sunday.

Madbouly reviewed the proposed measures during a meeting with Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk and Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Hussein Eissa, reaffirming government support for implementing the package once the necessary legislation is approved.

“The government is fully committed to ensuring the successful implementation of the second package of tax facilitation measures to improve the services provided to taxpayers,” Madbouly said.

Kouchouk said the reforms are designed to shift Egypt’s tax administration towards a “customer service” model by simplifying procedures and offering greater incentives for taxpayers.

“We aim to transform the tax system into one built on customer service through greater simplification and incentives for our taxpayer partners,” Kouchouk said. “Tax offices are ready to implement the new measures efficiently and flexibly as soon as the legislation is enacted.”

The minister said the package includes a range of tax incentives for businesses, manufacturers, investors and the healthcare sector as part of broader efforts to improve Egypt’s investment climate and support economic growth.
