Joe Alaskey, voice of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, dies at 63

The man who provided the voice for famous Looney Tunes cartoon characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety and Sylvester the Cat has died aged 63.

The death of Joe Alaskey from cancer was announced by his family on Wednesday, TMZ reported.

The Emmy-winning comic actor, who was born in upstate New York, also voiced other legendary Looney Tunes characters, including Elmer Fudd.

Alaskey’s career in voiceover began as an impressionist.

He got his big break in Hollywood when he was hired by Warner Bros in the late 1980s.

He succeeded the famed impressionist Mel Blanc following his death in 1989.

Alaskey also provided the voiceovers for Marvin the Martian, Plucky Duck on Tiny Toon Adventures, Grandpa Lou Pickles on Rugrats, and the ghost Stinkie from Casper.

He was the narrator on the television documentary series Murder Comes To Town, which aired on the Investigation Discovery Network.
