Vodafone Invests EGP 1.3 Bln In Infrastructure

Vodafone Egypt to pump about EGP 1.3 billion into new investments for supporting Data service, according to an infrastructure upgrade’s plan with a total investment costs of EGP 3 billion.

Vodafone – Egypt CEO, Eng. Hatem Dowidar, said half of the company’s investments this year will be allocated to support both Data and Internet services in order to meet the expected rush on the network as well as seizing great investment opportunities in this field on the short-term.

In an exclusive statement on the sidelines for Vodafone’s event where it launched a new trial of the  Android OS jointly with Google and Samsung, Dowidar added that the company’s target of the new investments is to suit its customers’ changeable demands.

He explained that Vodafone keens to have strategic partnerships with international companies; this is to provide its customers with the latest technology and cell phones in the world.  Vodafone has preceded with presenting “Blackberry” and also “I phone” system, “Windows 7 OS”, and Samsung’s OS for Pad.

It was mentioned that smart phones have the thirds of users’ trust. This rate increases every year. It is expected to have the largest market share according to users all over the world by 2016.
