Egypt considers new amendments to PPP law: minister
Egypt is considering new amendments to a law that governs public-private partnerships (PPP) in a bid to increase levels of private sector participation, its Finance Minister Mohamed Maait said on Monday.
The ministry is studying a number of PPP projects in mining and establishment of dry ports, Maait further told Amwal Al Ghad on the sidelines of a local financial newspaper conference.
The main objective of the new amendment is to keep alluring the private sector and creating more promising investment opportunities,
The new amendment will help attract more investments and give the opportunity to the private sector to be comfortable when they operate with the government, he said.
In PPPs, private investors take stakes in projects, sharing the risk and profits with the government.
