During Thursday opening session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has posted early gains of EGP 1.66 billion as the capital market has amounted to EGP 400.689 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad at 11:08 a.m. Cairo time (09:08 GMT).
EGX indices opened green.
The main index, EGX30 rose by 0.63% to hit 5857.83 p. EGX20 surged by 0.73% to reach 6846.66 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 pushed up by 0.12% to hit 539.15 pts. Price index EGX100 inched higher by 0.17% to reach 892.16 p.
Traded volume reached 41.383 million securities worth EGP 68.141 million, exchanged through 3.002 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 97 listed securities; 20 declined 50 advanced while 27 keeping their previous levels.
EGX’s early gains were backed by the Arabs’ buying deals.
Arabs were net buyers seizing 16.91% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 13.626 million excluding the deals.
On the other hand, Egyptians and non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 71.18% and 11.92% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 7.808 million and EGP 5.817 million excluding the deals.
Leading Shares:
EGX’s leading shares witnessed unsteady performance.
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding:
Trading has been suspended for Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA)’s stock remained with no change at EGP 0.61.
EFG-Hermes:
EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) went down by 0.49% to hit EGP 12.19.
Citadel Capital:
Citadel Capital (CCAP.CA)’s stock slumped by 0.48% to reach EGP 4.18.
Orascom Construction Industries:
Orascom Construction Industries – OCI (OCIC.CA)’s stock inched lower by 0.41% to hit EGP 270.00.
Orascom Telecom Holding:
Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) hiked by 0.81% to reach EGP 3.74.
