Egypt’s stocks end lower, benchmark EGX 30 tumbles 1.05% on Wednesday

 

Egypt’s stock exchange’s (EGX) indexes closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark EGX 30 index tumbling 1.05 percent to 11,413 points.

The EGX 70 EWI index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) inched down 1.67 percent to 2,376 points, while the fixed-weighted index, EGX 30 Capped fell 0.99 percent to 14,074 points. The all-embracing index, EGX 100 dropped 1.46 to 3,403 points. Meanwhile, the equal weights index, EGX 50 traded 1.28 percent lower to 2,382 points.

Market Cap   

Total market capitalisation has on Wednesday incurred losses worth 6.2 billion Egyptian pounds ($396.7 million) to close at 700.4 billion pounds.

Trading Aggregates            

Trading value has approximately reached 5.5 billion pounds, while the trading volume has almost recorded 1.2 billion securities executed 50,463 transactions.
