Egyptian Finance Minister tests positive for coronavirus – sources
Egyptian Finance Minister Mohamed Maait has tested positive for coronavirus, sources with knowledge of the matter told local press on Sunday.
The sources added that the minister is self-isolating at home with mild symptoms.
Egypt reported on Saturday 600 new coronavirus cases, bringing its total infections tally nationwide to 177,543 since the outbreak last year.
It also reported 48 new deaths, bringing the overall fatalities from the virus to 10,298.
As many as 405 patients have been discharged from hospitals over the past 24 hours, pushing the total recoveries to 137,294, a statement by the Egyptian Health Ministry said in a statement.
