Veteran Egyptian journalist Makram Mohamed Ahmed passes away at 86

Veteran Egyptian journalist Makram Mohamed Ahmed died on Thursday at the age of 86.

Ahmed previously served as head of the Journalists Syndicate as well as general-secretary of the Union of Arab Journalists.

He last served as the first head of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation.
