Suez Canal Authority may sign MoU with Pakistan’s Gwadar Port Authority

Egypt and Pakistan discussed the possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) and Gwadar Port Authority, according to statement by the Pakistani maritime affairs ministry.

Egypt’s Ambassador to Pakistan Tarek Dahrough met with Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi, where they discussed a joint working mechanism between the two countries, the statement read.

Zaidi exchanged his vision for Pakistani’s Gwadar Port and how Islamabad can learn from Egypt’s experience through its Suez Canal, one of the world’s biggest transhipment ports.

He also invited Egypt’s Ambassador Dahrough to visit Gwadar Port soon, the statement said, adding that both parties agreed to keep close contact in the future.
