Israel still needs several months to end Gaza operations, Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant told White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan on Thursday.
Gallant said that for over a decade Hamas has been building its “infrastructure under the ground and above the ground.”
He also said that for the military operation to end and to destroy the group “it will require a long period of time – it will last more than several months.”
The attacks on Gaza have been continuous for 70 days, during which Israel killed more than 18,600 civilians and wounded more than 50,000.
In less than three months, Israel caused a never before seen damage in the besieged strip.
