Syria’s Burda Readymade Garments Group started its investments in Egypt by opening its factory in the first industrial area in El-Obour city, at total investments of EGP 15 million.
Eng. Ahmed Galal Al Din, Head of IBIA, International Business and Investment Association, the decision of Burda Group proves the seriousness of the Syrian investor, who preferred the Egyptian market.
He added that the Syrian Arab Republic Burda Readymade Garments Group already started working producing, moreover, it is getting ready to sign contracts to export to 6 Arab counties; Lebanon, Jordon, Libya, Kuwait, Syria and Tunisia. Galal mentioned that the total sums of export exceed $ 3 million, according to the signed contracted.
The International Business and Investment Association has decided to adopt the file of the Syrian investors, who fled from the destruction made by the Syrian revolution. It coordinated with the Egyptian Ministry of Industry and the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) to provide the lands necessary for receiving these investments. The Minister of Industry, Haten Saleh, has announced before about establishing an Arab industrial zone to receive those investments.
