European shares surge on Tuesday

European shares experienced a notable rise on Tuesday, driven by expectations of an upcoming US Federal Reserve monetary easing cycle. The pan-European STOXX 600 index climbed 0.76 per cent by 5:30 ET (9:30 GMT), while Spain’s IBEX 35 surged 1.19 per cent.

Germany’s DAX increased by 0.66 per cent, France’s CAC 40 gained 0.67 per cent, and Switzerland’s SMI rose 0.43 per cent. London’s FTSE 100 also saw a modest gain of 0.73 per cent. The broad market rally reflects investor optimism about a potential significant interest rate reduction by US policymakers.
