Egypt is set to host the first factory of the world’s largest producer of dyed and printed fabrics, the Chinese Luthai Textile Co. Renowned for receiving the National Chinese Science and Technology Award four times, the company specialises in designing and manufacturing the most advanced spinning systems globally, as per an Egyptian Cabinet Statement.
The group is studying establishing a fully integrated supply chain for dyed fabrics in Egypt. This includes spinning, weaving, and manufacturing garments and school uniforms.
The facility, which would cover 500,000 square meters in El-Sadat City and Abu Rawash, is expected to cost $385 million.
The project, eligible for the golden license, will benefit from Egypt’s economic stability, skilled workers, and sustainable development, the statement said.
