Egypt eyes unlocking German expertise, investment – minister

Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El-Khatib, held on Wednesday discussions with a high-level delegation from the Bavarian Industry Association and the German-Arab Friendship Association to explore opportunities for strengthening economic cooperation.

During the meeting, El-Khatib emphasized Germany’s pivotal role in supporting Egypt’s growth and economic development. He expressed Egypt’s keen interest in utilising German technological advancements and industrial expertise to boost its own industrial sector.

El-Khatib also underscored the strategic importance of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) as a global trade hub, highlighting Egypt’s competitive edge in trade and investment and the wealth of opportunities it offers to international companies.
