Egypt’s CBE reports asset surge to EGP6.310t at Feb-end
The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) saw its total assets rise to 6.310 trillion Egyptian pounds by the end of February 2025, up from 6.277 trillion pounds in January, according to its Monthly Financial Position Report.
The report highlighted a notable increase in CBE’s gold assets, which surged to 599.581 billion pounds in February, compared to 572.739 billion pounds the previous month.
Meanwhile, the CBE’s investments in the capitals of international financial institutions remained unchanged at 27.734 billion pounds. However, investments in the capitals of subsidiaries and associates edged higher, reaching 83.655 billion pounds in February, up from 83.087 billion pounds in January.
This steady growth in assets and investments underscores the CBE’s strengthening financial position as it continues to play a key role in stabilizing Egypt’s economy.
