Egypt’s expatriates’ car import app back online

Egypt’s Ministry of Finance has reinstated technical support services of the electronic application for expatriates’ car imports, as per a statement from the Cabinet.

The ministry emphasised its full support for this initiative and reiterated its commitment to its terms, noting that some updates have been implemented following a technical breakdown, according to the statement.

It clarified that citizens benefiting from the vehicle import facilitation initiative can track their applications and carry out shipping procedures through the initiative’s electronic phone application.

The ministry instructed the Customs Committee to promptly review and approve citizens’ applications on the electronic app for the initiative aimed at easing car imports for Egyptians living abroad, and to facilitate their shipping procedures.

However, it also noted that there is ongoing coordination with all relevant authorities to ensure the consistent provision of technical support services to those benefiting from this initiative, the statement added.
