Egypt’s citrus exports surged past 2.4 million tons in 2024, placing the country at the top of global citrus exporters, according to a Cabinet statement.
The record volume, covering oranges, lemons, tangerines, grapefruits and other citrus varieties, generated more than $1 billion in revenues.
The achievement comes as a result of a comprehensive national strategy aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian agricultural products abroad and expanding their export footprint.
