Egypt explores training partnership with Binational Fulbright Commission

Egypt’s Local Development Minister Manal Awad met with the CEO of the Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt (BFCE) Maggie Nassif to explore potential cooperation opportunities in training and local capacity building, as per a Cabinet statement.

The meeting focused on potential areas of collaboration to support the ministry’s strategic goals, particularly in enhancing the capacities of local government staff and upgrading the Sakkara Training Centre.

This includes training programmes under the 2025/2026 plan, deploying international experts in specialised fields, and providing overseas scholarships for local administration employees, postgraduates, and researchers.

Both sides discussed collaborating on the Holy Family Trail project to improve marketing and infrastructure. The goal is to upgrade 25 sites in certain governorates, improve tourist services, and promote Egypt as a religious tourism destination.
