Egypt’s Housing Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny has ordered a comprehensive review of fire safety, cybersecurity and workplace health standards across all bodies affiliated with the ministry, the Cabinet said on Monday.
The minister instructed that existing fire alarm and firefighting systems be inspected and upgraded where needed to meet technical standards, according to the statement. He also called for stronger digital safeguards to protect ministry infrastructure against cyber risks.
On occupational safety, Minister El-Sherbiny urged affiliated entities to maintain safe working conditions through preventive measures, protective equipment, and regular training and awareness programmes.
He requested time-bound plans for system upgrades and periodic progress reports to ensure compliance with safety standards across the ministry’s sectors, the statement said.
