Central Bank of Egypt announces 1 Jan. bank holiday

Egypt’s central bank said on Sunday that all banks operating in the country will be closed on Thursday, 1 Jan., 2026, to mark the end of the financial year on 31 Dec., 2025.

Banking operations will resume on the morning of Sunday, 4 Jan., the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said in a statement.
